WHO WE ARE

We are a multidisciplinary team of Christian health professionals who use their faith as the bases of their professional practice. We demonstrate the compassion of our Lord Jesus Christ in the practice of our profession. Our services are for all. We brake earthnocentric, racial, cultural, polilitical and religious barriers. All our staff are qualified personels  duely registered un their respective or authorizing bodies in the country where we provide services. We see Jesus Christ and Know Him as the greatest Physician. His love for man-kind we believe gave birth to the health profession as well as the use of modern or orthodox medicines. We draw inspirations from the word of God written in the Holy Bible.

JESUS COMMAND ON COMPASSION

Matt.25:35-36 ,I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drinks, naked and yo clothed me, I was sick and you visited me. The above words from the greatest Physician is our trigger.It is not enough to speak the words of God and not do. We obey His commands by considering to stand with the needy peoples to providing them comfort through our services to them.

Health centres, Clinics and Hospitals are the inns we have today as was in the bible days.Luke10:34,The good Sameritan took an accident victim into the inn where they took care of him. We try to do the same as we dress wounds of our care users. The medicines we apply on the wounds and the treatments we provide is same as oil and wine used in the bible days to take care of the accident victim that was attended to by the good Samaritan.

EYE CARE

John9:6,Jesus spit on the ground and made a mud mixed with wine and applied on the blind,s eye. In our team we have specialists who diagnose and treat people with eye ailment and God heals them.

FEVER

Matt8:14-15,Peter,s mother inlaw had fever and Jesus ministered to her  and healed her. We have specialists who diagnose and treat people running temperature and God heals them.

HEADACHES

In the bible days, we learnt the child cried my head, my head and died. God used his prophet to raise him back to life.2Kings4:19. In our team, we have specialists who diagnose and treat people suffering from headaches and God heals them.

ORTHORPAEDIC CARE

The Holy Spirit healed an orthorpaedic case while Paul was ministering and somebody who was sleeping fell down stairs and had multiple fractures. Acts 20:19.We have specialists who we refer orthorpaedic cases to in our team.

GYNAECOLOGICAL CONDITIONS

The Hebrew women in the bible days were Gynacological cases which God managed for them. In our team we refer such cases to specialists who provides the best of care and God heals them. Exodus 1:19

HAEMORRHAGE

Luke 8:43,In the bible days Jesus healed the woman with the issues of blood. That was haemorrhagic conditions. In our services we refer such cases to specialists who provides such cares and God heals them.

DISABLED

John5:5,Jesus healed the crippled. We care for the disabled. Anywhere Jesus met people with different infermities he gave them attention during his earthly ministries. He was not only stationed in the synagues of those days. He went to people at the pool, at the temple, at the gate. That is what inspire our mobile medical outreaches.

BIPOLLAR

Mark5:4 Jesus healed a man who was bound with chain. That was catatonic Schizophrenia, but Jesus healed him. We refer people with bipolar conditions to specialists and God heals them.

WHAT WE DO

We provide hospital services to people in communities across Africa. This is by way of visiting the care users at their door steps in ambulances and organise clinical services at a designated community halls next to the people. We concentrate on preventive care, curative care and health promotions. We work with social workers and make arrangement for  referrals of complex cases to nearby health institutions for comprehensive managements.

We promotes, supports and restores the health status of individuals, families, groups, and communities. We assists health care consumers to maintain the basic activities of daily living. We have judgement within a caring theurapeutic  relationship, informed by the context in which we practice. We maintain continuity and coordination of health care. We provide continual support and care to health care consumers, irrespective of their state of health and throughout their life span. We provide and maintain a safe and conducive environment for health care users.

We ensure good communication that in our practice both direct and indirect communications are conducive to sound practice. Our staff team eliminate all the indirect aspects of communication that undermine the trusts of health care users. We are strict on our staff team on their gestures, the way they walk, their tone of voice, appearance, attitudes, approachability to act as resourceful persons and to remain cool and decisive in crisis situations; their charm, friendliness, innate courtesy and helpfulness all communicate a trusting relationship. We are totally opposed to staff who are insensitive and put health care users in conditions  bullied and shouted around. We know that there is often much impatience with the aged, the confused, the weak and helpless. We know that the in-secured and the unwell human beings are at the mercy of the system and particularly at the mercy of the health practitioners.

HOW WE STARTED

Pastor Abel Werreh (PN) having acknowledged that he was called for medical missions,called for inauguration of the team on Saturday December 21,1996 at Wisdom Guest House,No 4 Wisdom street Bori-Ogoni,Rivers State of Nigeria.He invited his friend,Pastor Sylvanus Ehua to be the Guest speaker in the inauguration.He used the ocassion to raise donations from churches and individuals.Abel the founder of the team afterword,mobilised his professional colleagues from Braithewaithe Memorial Hospital and University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital Port Harcourt who volunteered to serve the health care users on the first medical outreaches held in Yeghe Abel,s own community.That was the kick off of the medical outreaches organized by the team in January 1997.

OUR LEADERSHIP COMPOSITION

AHOMSA is hearded by Pastor Abel Werreh ( PN ) He is i professional Nurse holder of Diploma in Nurseing Rivers State School of nursing Port Harcourt , Bachellor of Theology,Bachellor of Arts and Nursing University of South Africa.Other directors are, Dr Fergus Ambe of the Republic of Cameroon. Dr Ambe trained as a medical doctor in University of Lagos where he obtained his MBBS in 2003. He has been working as a medical director in Clinique de l”espoir  Essos, Yaunde. The Clinic where they care for only HIV/AIDS clients. Dr Ambe is presently in Texas USA FOR a post Graduate course in Traumatology. Next on the list is DR Abuh Sunday Omogani, a Nigerian. Dr Abuh is a consultant ophthalmologist serving in Ecwa Eye Hospital Kano, Nigeria. He had his Bachelor Degrees in medicine and surgery from University of Jos Nigeria in 1989. He had a certificate in Good-standing from Medical Council of India in 2006                                                                                          

He further did a post Graduate Diploma in paediatric ophthalmology and Adult strabismus at Aravind Eye Hospitals and Post Graduate Institute of Ophthalmology, India in 2007. The fouth member on the list is Dr Alfred Azubuike Onua from Nigeria. Dr Onua was trained as a medical doctor in Russia. He got his Bachelor Degrees in medicine and surgery from Kuban State Medical Academy, krasnodar,and became Federation medical doctor in 1995. He did his Post Graduate Diploma in Ophthalmology at National Post Graduate Medical College of Nigeria in 2002-2005, University Teaching Hospital Enugu. .Associate Fellow (part one) Ophthalmology in  may 2008 from National Post Graduate Medical college of Nigeria. Dr Onua  is working as a senior Registrar, Ophthalmology University of Port Harcourt Nigeria. The fifth member on the list of directors is Elder Gipson Terah Kugang, the former mayor of Bori Local Government Council Rivers State Nigeria between 1979-1982. An accredited lay preacher of the Methodist Church, Nigeria. He is the National coordinator of AMOMI Nigeria. The sixth member is Pastor Christopher Idibie who is of the catholic church, had his BSc degree from Delta State University, Nigeria in 2000. He further had his MSc in Chemical Engineering University of Witwatersrand Johannesburg. He is presently on his PhD programme in the same University
